She is an Ayurvedic instructor at Clark College and The Institute of Digestive Health, as well as the Co-founder of The Institute of Ayurvedic Yoga Therapy. Susan is a professional member of the National Ayurvedic Medical Association, Association of Ayurvedic Professionals of North America and Yoga Alliance.
After many years of teaching yoga to children at the Boys and Girls Club, Special Olympics and at Coach Art, Susan developed her own yoga for children based on the principles of Ayurveda. Ayurveda is the oldest continually practiced healthcare system in the world that comes from The Vedic Texts. It teaches one how to reconnect to their own internal knowing by teaching them how to move with the rhythms and cycles of nature. We are all born with this knowledge, as it is our birthright, but often we develop filters over the years that disconnect us from nature and from our true self. Through movement and sound Ayurvedic Yoga helps children to connect with and honor their own internal knowing. The purpose is the give children healthy, fun and expressive tools to bring through their natural wisdom and brilliance.
